York

I have been a vary lucky lady this weekend! I have been on a lovely trip to York. It is a lovely historic place full of fine ales and architecture! I delightfully sampled many ales and was surprised to find I really like blond ale! I also ate at two lovely restaurants. I must stink of garlic because both meals had generous helpings! It was nice to have a change for the norm.

The shops were lovely and I came across a wonderful place, Cath Kidston's! YEYEYEYEYYEY!

We went to the Quilt Museum in York. That was fascinating. Stoatie loved it too. The quilts were dated around 1800. The fabric patterns are very similar to what we use now. Funny how we don't change much! I don't know what I will make yet with all the samples and fabrics!

Forget me not!

You may have thought that I have abandoned you all but forget me not! I have been a creating and a painting! Our house is getting up to date and my stock is over flowing! There are a few items in the shop but I am hoping to get more in soon. I am having trouble with lighting close ups. I am not a professional photographer by any means. So problem continues and work sits in a lovely box! So that has been getting me down a bit. The shoppe at least has some beautiful items in. I must wake up one day with masses of photographic talent!

On to 'THE' topic. Christmas. I am not at all ready for it. I have a few items for the Stoat but that is about it. OOOOPPPS. Well what can you do ehh? Well book a day off and go shopping! So plan is in motion and will be executed next week. Wish me luck. I must scadaddle folks so take care!

Frenzy

Since moving we have been rather frenzied! Decorating, gardening and lots of shopping for the house. I am settling in, in my new job. I've been planning the shop for a while and need to start making many lovely items for a November update. I have to fit this in whilst decorating! I bought a new rose yesterday. It has the most lovely scent and is bright red as you can see from the picture above. I adore roses because of their scent. yummy! A lot of gardening has been going on here. I will show you the results below.

I managed to escape last weekend and go to Erddig in Wrexham, North Wales. So here is a few photos for you! It was a lovely day and it was so bus there. It was free entry. Apparently they do that once a year. I saw a few people from the area. We worked out that walking there and back and around the place we must have totted up 10 miles! Well worth it though! I hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

Been a while

I have finally moved! The Stoat and myself have bought a lovely 1927 home. It is so lovely and we have a garden. Well to be precise two! One at the front of the house and one at the back! So this is why I have not been around and posting.

Lots of decorating and gardening to be done! I have also started a new job. So new me all round really. WOOOHOOOO! The photos show the before and during stage of moving and decorating! Hence the mess! It is all very tiring but rewarding as we love the place.

The front room has been stripped and re plastered and now eagerly awaits paint! I'm losing the buzz for it but can't wait until it is finished. So there you go a snippet of Stitcher&Stoat towers!

Done and dusted!

The little Ladies are finally finished! It was hard work but I am pleased with them. I found it scary adding the faces to them. I was afraid they would look odd. I like them though!

I have been making coasters too. Lovely little quilted coasters. They are very... animalistic. That's all I am saying! I will save them for another day.

There are a few personal things going on right now. Big changes are a foot. I have been banned from discussing them but in a few weeks perhaps I can spill the beans! I have some things to do today with regards to that so I best get going and be a grown up! Boooooo Take care xxxxx

Socialists

Well thank god for the sane people of Wrexham. Without them I would be totally horrified. The BNP (British National Party) has been working hard in the area and country. They have managed to get three (I believe) candidates in the Wrexham area to stand at the elections in May. Saturday 12th April saw a group of theirs come up from South Wales stirring up anger and hatred. Anger on my part at disgust for their stupid and nonsensical views. Anger from them shouting disgusting things at others.

You see at the response to their presence many local people and organisations decided to hold an anti BNP march! Hooorrrayyy for sense. Trade groups and socialist groups under various flags and banners and also peace groups all got together with a band thumping away strode through our town with pride and solidarity to show these people we do not want them here. People who don't hold the same political views and some who don't even like each other all stood together to let the town and the BNP know that racism and fascism has no place in Wrexham. What made me laugh as they marched past was the fact that my own mummy was smack bang in the middle of the march closely followed by my big brother Niall who was running all over taking photos of the whole thing. I unfortunately was working but they came past and I cheered them on! I did try to catch up with them on my lunch break but it had finished and a rally at the local Miners Institute club ensued.

I was so glad that people came together to do this. I didn't know about it until twenty minutes before as I happened to call my mum. Still around 300 people were there! So well done folks lets not let these idiots invade our homes and town. We need foreign workers to maintain companies and the NHS. Thanks xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Doll frenzy

Well I am still in the midst of my doll making frenzy. I have one dress to make and to do their faces. I will paint them hopefully with little smiles! A few more days and they will be done. I am not going to rush things as they won't work out. Taking my time it definitely the way to go. I really need to add some new lines to my shop however these little ladies have been taking up a lot of my time! I spend far too long on so many fiddly details, so each one is extra special!

Stoat and I are having a lazy day. So whilst I sew the little ladies I will watch a film, probably Zodiac. Our pals have loaned it to us! Lovely people! I hope you are all having a lovely day! Drop me a line and let me know what you are up to!

Birthday Recovery

Mr Stoat The Birthday Boy!

It all went to plan! People, food, fun and a secret cake! I had to hide the thing under the bed! We all drank far too much as usual. Why change a habit?

Our Chinese meal was lovely however they did send 25 spring rolls rather than 5. Ripped off!

When everyone had left I realised I forgot to give them cake to take home! duuuhhhhh! Ahhh more for us! I just had a slice with a cup of tea! yummmmy!

Today will be a quiet day recovering and I am making two more dolls like the one I made some time ago. My friend wants all three for her nieces. So I shall get on with it whilst watching the newly acquired Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate events.
xxx Have a great day! xx

been a while crocodile!

Yes I know I've been rather lazy with my posts. I have been busy trying to get my flat/apartment back on the market. I had a viewing today so fingers crossed. I have been a bit of a recluse but still managed the odd drinkie with the Charlster and co. I had to get some fresh air.

My beau bought me some lovely shoes for Valentines! They are a sexy turquoise blue colour. They are sooooo comfy and I feel all yummy and girly too. They are from adoresomething!

I got some lovely new specs as it was time I stopped squinting! I am very Dame Edna Everage! But hey I can see! I needed to start to read some books as I have been a vegetable in front of the TV too long. I started Persuasion by Miss Austin today. So lets see how it goes! I am having serious crafting withdrawal as I have to keep my mess to a minimum. My daily existence calls for a great amount of mess so I cannot possibly send the beau into melt down by crafting mess too. He is a neat freak! Ah well roll on new home and my own room!

I was happy to hear that Emily Martin (The Black Apple) is finally getting on TV nowhere less than Martha Stewart's show! Well done! I am so pleased! Happy crafting Lady Apple! Chin chin!

Take No Prisoners!

I went out on Saturday night in Wrexham. Well we can definitely say we took no prisoners! No one was left sober! Just about standing though! It was Charlie's little sisters 18th birthday so there was a big gang out. I went out with my gang and caught up with them later as the security at the FAT CAT wouldn't let in the little sis cos she had no ID! They missed out on some money! They all drink loads of pricey cocktails! WWAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a picture of me and the Charlster! Don't we look fine! The last time we went out my brother got in on the picture! Yeah the shy guy in the back! Thats Tansy! She escaped our enchanted town for the mystical city! Good on her! Anyway, keeping it sweet, Take care xxx

Love to nose!

My favorite websites for nosing are as follows;

Found
PostSecret

and now i found your camera

I love the secrets on post secret and adore the silly things and even emotive items that people find across America. I am always on the look out but haven't found anything yet!

I found your camera reminds me of my mums story. Her friend of many many years was diagnosed as terminally ill. Their close group of frineds decided that they would go out for a meal and a drink in our town (Wrexham). This really was a farewell dinner I suppose. Well they had a great night out apparently, doing what you do. Memory lane, laughs and booze. My mum took her camera as she wanted remember everyone there along with her friend. Too many drinks later (I am sure!) The camera was left on the table. Yes you guessed it. It was stolen. My mum was really upset later. I think she thought it was in her bag. She still thinks about that night and gets upset inside as she would loved to have had those photos. I hope the thief got pleasure as my mum certainly didn't. Well done scuzz bag. xxx

I love the messages from PostSecret. It is a place where the most heart felt sadness can be encouraged to be spoken about if not to friends or family but there to strangers. It really is amazing. It sends out positivity in a dark place. Something I need to focus on at the moment as work is really getting me down. I need to really find my calling and make a living from it. xxxxxxxxx

Bunny in the head lights!

My working day certainly had a cumbersome beginning and certainly a startling end! I wasn't in the mood for work today (who is?) But you know you get on with it for the spondoulikays (money). Anyhoooooo about to leave home Stoatie shouts 'have you got your keys?', me, 'errrmmm yeah ('duuuhh why wouldn't I?' in my head) off goes the Stoat to work (five minute walk from home). I get ready all grumpy. I reach for the keys, ta da! Not there, nowhere, not a sniff of keys anywhere! DDDAAAAMMMMMNNNNNN Panic, can't get out! Can't get out if there is a fire! Can't get OUT AAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH. No over reaction or anything. Me all panicky phones the stoat four times-engaged damn damn damn Fifth time panic panic got no keys! aaahhhhhhh. Stoat 'big sigh' (stupid bitch- in his head) and has to run home to let me out to work and run back to get back for his job! yikes! On the way to work I realised that the said keys are in fact not holidaying in the med but in work. STOOOPID! They are now in my rightful hands and will not leave my sight! haa

The day went as expected-OK. The thought of my day off took over the afternoon and got me through. Also along with the fact it is the Stoat and mine's anniversary. woohoo.

On leaving work me thinks it a great idea to go and get some loverly pop! (diet coke) so off I march to the co-op. I exchange the shiny for the pop with the lady, go on my merry way. Crossing by a beautiful church. Screech bap. SQUISH. I get hit in the stomach by a wing mirror! Total idiot is speeding hence the belly full of mirror. My shopping flies off to mars (down the street) I am thrown into a spin like a mad Martha Graham dance piece and luckily find my balance (surely down to all those years of dance, it did come in useful mum and dad!) But yikes do I feel like crap and an idiot! Traffic was mental and on red so loads of people saw it!

Thank goodness several people came to my rescue, instantly telling me the driver was speeding. FOOL! I was so angry but trying to be balanced about it all, whilst freaking out and in pain. I just wanted to be at home at that minute away from all the attention. Ambulance came drove me around the corner by the kebab house (no I failed to take advantage of this) checked me out, saw I was, apart from sore and freaked, not dying! WOO HOO! Bless em they gave me a lift home. That was embarrassing! I live a ten minute walk away so they didn't mind.

So thanks to the good Samaritans and the ambulance crew! The police have just left mine as they came to take a statement. She told me that the wing mirror was smashed to pieces. Yey Thank god I'm fat and I had that safety flab!

Thanks to the good people of Wrexham!

Merry Christmas

It's that time of year once again!

The fridge is stocked and overflowing,

the booze is several rows deep.

The Christmas lights are flickering,

the wrapping is carefully placed!

The excitement is building,

apprehension dissipating,

An adult take on Christmas,

yet still a little child like glee!

Let all be well with this world,

just for one day!

The time came

Feeling miserable from being ill and worn out, I had a great idea! The one thing that always cheers me up is Christmas. So I got the decorations and tree out and began my festive awakening! It took me a while as my energy levels are low but hey I got there in the end.

So each day my routine once in the front room is to 'make it Christmas' by turning on the Christmas tree lights! Last night I even played some Christmas tunes! Wow! I did feel rather cheery! My mum bought me a ceramic angel which you can put a tea light in. It is so pretty.

It really is another wintry dark day and James Bond is on the telly so I know it's nearly Christmas. I am not ready one bit as I have been busy with my shop and haven't been out to shop. It will all come together though! I hope you are all more organised than I am! If you need something extra special like decorations you know where to look!

Have a great weekend! All my best! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Rainy Day

Ohh it's miserable out there. Blistery and cold! The rain is hitting against the window and the sky is graying darker and darker. The greatest things about this weather misery is that you can get lovely and cosy at home. Batten down the hatches folks, put on your fluffiest clothes and put on the kettle! Diagnosis Murder is on in the background and I'm feeling toasty.

I thought I would take some photos of my quilts with the new camera on loan from my brother Niall. It went all sunny just before the rain started. Unfortunately they didn't turn out as well as

hoped. I think I best give up! Aaahhh well. he he he. The picture above is of the rain and tree's outside my front room window. buuurrrrggggghhhhhh I went on to take some photos of the bunting I made.

I really do like the way the pink and the red turned out! They are both equally delightful! I also like the way the photos are all dark and mysterious! So there you go folks that's about all that is going on in the world of the little stitcher!

xxxxxxx Take care xxxxxxx
